The Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta marked a historic milestone during the graduation ceremony for its 134th class. Held in the FDI Auditorium on Friday, November 15, 2024, this ceremony took place in a solemn and proud atmosphere. This yudisium recorded the largest number of graduates in FDI’s history, making it a landmark event for the faculty and the entire academic community.

In her inspiring speech, the Dean of The Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah, Dr. Yuli Yasin, M.A., expressed pride in the achievements of the graduates. She highlighted that with 110 graduates—91 from the undergraduate (S1) program and 19 from the master’s (S2) program—this yudisium marks the largest class in FDI’s history. This achievement reflects FDI's commitment to producing qualified graduates ready to contribute to society.

The Dean reminded FDI alumni to actively engage in their roles and fulfill their mission wherever they are. Dr. Yuli encouraged graduates not only to seek employment but also to bring the knowledge they have acquired into society. She asserted that the knowledge gained at FDI should serve as a solution to various social challenges.

She also emphasized that FDI graduates have a unique advantage in the job market due to their comprehensive understanding of Islamic sciences across diverse fields. Additionally, their proficiency in Arabic opens up various opportunities in religious affairs, education, diplomacy, and even international organizations.

Beyond the numbers, this yudisium was also marked by its international diversity. Dr. Yuli enthusiastically announced that FDI was proud to graduate a number of international students who completed their studies in the Master’s Program in Islamic Studies, including students from Algeria, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the Algerian student, Said Hanifi, earned the title of top graduate in the master’s program.

The presence of these international students is concrete evidence of FDI’s status as a globally recognized faculty attracting students from different countries. This also extends FDI’s contribution to the international arena through its ambassadors from various nations.
