Community Service

For the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah, community service is part of the lecturers' lives, because they live and develop with the community every day. Many lecturers become coaches, administrators, and managers of religious social institutions in the community, or hold positions in national and international institutions. Service activities of lecturers of the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah can also be obtained through a network of cooperation owned by the faculty and carried out independently. Some of the services carried out independently, for example, are the establishment of Higher Islamic boarding schools. High boarding school is a boarding school organized for students. 

In 2023, there were 3 high boarding schools that accommodated 40 students. Apart from being given free facilities, they are also equipped with various abilities and skills needed, such as preaching, memorizing the Qur'an, and other supporting activities. (See more in the attachment)
Because UIN Jakarta has international students, lecturers are also involved to do service as foreign student dormitory coaches. The lecturer lives in the dormitory on a daily basis. In the dormitory, the Pembina provides insight and knowledge to foreign students in the form of pursuit and improvement of skills. In the field of increasing knowledge and skills, students are given the skills of reading the yellow book, Arabic and English debates, tambourine art, dance, angklung, and so on.

In addition, as part of the task of implementing the Tri Darma of Higher Education, community service activities are integrated with student activities, one of which is through the Real Work Lecture (KKN). Every year, Dirasat Islamiyah Faculty lecturers apply to become KKN student supervisors. In 2022, there were 5 lecturers from the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah who became supervisors in various villages in Bogor and Tangerang Regencies. Collaboration between lecturers and students is not only limited to community service activities, but in all aspects of the Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi activities.
