On Thursday, June 27, 2024, Dr. Laila Mounir, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at Mohamed V University, hosted a delegation from FDI. According to QS rankings, Mohamed V University holds the top position among universities in Morocco, ranks 24th in Africa, and is ranked 1200th globally. With 2817 international students out of 83 thousand and an international research network score of 77.7%, it is established as the premier university in Morocco.

The Faculty of Arts & Humanities boasts a high level of publication productivity among its lecturers, aligning with the purpose of the FDI delegation's visit to collaborate on research and publications. Dr. Laila Mounir warmly welcomed the FDI lecturers, who will engage in joint research and publications with the faculty's lecturers in the Faculty of Adab or other Mohamed V University faculties.

During the technical discussion regarding the potential participation of FDI students in the student mobility program "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka" (MBKM) for a one-semester study, the Dean, Laila Mounir, expressed concerns about the Arabic language proficiency of FDI students. Dr. Yuli Yasin, the Dean of FDI, affirmed that FDI students possess fluent Arabic language skills and are accustomed to engaging in academic activities in Arabic. Furthermore, it was emphasized that the students selected for the student mobility program represent the top performers from the 5th and 7th semesters, having undergone a rigorous selection process.

Yuli Yasin elucidated that FDI can be regarded as the Ciputat branch of Al Azhar, stemming from the collaboration between UIN Jakarta and Al-Azhar University Cairo. FDI adopts the Al-Azhar curriculum and materials dispatched by Al-Azhar, employing Arabic as the medium of instruction, along with faculty members who are alumni of Al-Azhar and Middle Eastern universities, including those from Morocco.

Concluding the meeting, it was agreed that commencing from the 2024/2025 academic year, FDI students would have the opportunity to participate in the Dirasat Islamiyah Study Program at the Faculty of Adab & Humanities, Mohamed V University for a one-semester program, equivalent to 20 credits.
