FDI Futsal Team Wins Championship

The FDI Futsal Team successfully secured second place in the futsal competition organized by the Student Association of the Library Science Study Program (HMPS Ilmu Perpustakaan) at the end of October (30/10), as part of the 22nd anniversary celebration of the department. The Futsal Championship was one of the anniversary events, participated in by nearly all departments at UIN Jakarta, with a total of 16 teams. FDI sent two teams to compete in the Futsal Championship held at Primaraga Hall. Team FDI A consisted of students from the 2019 batch, while Team B was made up of freshmen from the 2021 batch. Despite this, one member of Team A mentioned that both teams supported each other. "We support each other," said Satrio. He then shared how Team A managed to secure their victory. "At first, we played against the Social Welfare (Kesos) department. We made it to the quarter-finals, winning there. Interestingly, in the semi-finals, we ended up playing against Team FDI B or the 2021 batch. We won (in the semi-finals), and in the final, we faced the KPI (Islamic Broadcasting Communication) department."

In the round of 16, Team FDI A faced Kesos B, and after a 4-4 draw, they won 4-3 in a penalty shootout. In the quarter-finals, Team FDI A won against the Religious Studies department with a score of 7-2. In the semi-finals, they defeated Team FDI B 4-3. Finally, in the final, Team FDI A placed second after losing to the KPI team. Satrio then talked about the history of the formation of the FDI futsal team from the 2019 batch. They named their team ‘El-Dirasy,’ the same name as their futsal team. "So, I gathered my friends when we were freshmen, because I wanted to find a community with the same hobby. Back in September, I contacted all my friends who liked futsal. After that, we gathered, and I thought that not many FDI students were interested in futsal. Alhamdulillah, a few friends liked futsal, so I added them to a group, and from there, we started competing with other faculties."

According to Satrio, since the formation of the group, the El-Dirasy futsal team has regularly held practice sessions and played against teams from other faculties. "At first, we just played for fun among ourselves, but then we tried other challenges by sparring with other faculties. We actually had the intention from the first semester to participate in tournaments because we wanted to make the Faculty of Islamic Studies proud. Then the pandemic came, and we had to stop practicing. When PPKM restrictions eased a bit, we made time to train together and compete with others. Over time, sometimes we practiced once every two weeks. The longest break between games was about once a month."

Satrio expressed his gratitude for the FDI futsal team's victory. "Alhamdulillah, I’m happy and very proud to represent Dirasat and win the competition." As the initiator of the futsal team, Satrio has hopes for the future of the El-Dirasy futsal team, especially for the 2019 batch. "I hope the team becomes more united, can actively participate in competitions, and produce future generations," he said. He added, "We can't stop here. We must keep training and start from scratch again. The achievements we've made are now in the past, and we need to have a new generation so that the futsal team at Dirasat continues to grow," he concluded.
