FDI Greens the Campus with Lee Kuan Yew Plants

The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FDI) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta continues to demonstrate its commitment to realizing the vision of a green campus through various strategic steps to preserve the environment. One of its latest initiatives is the cultivation of Lee Kuan Yew plants, carried out on Thursday, March 13, 2025, within the FDI building area. This activity is part of a greening campaign involving faculty staff as a form of concern for the campus ecosystem.

This cultivation effort is not only aimed at beautifying the campus but also at creating green open spaces that contribute to improved air quality and provide long-term ecological benefits. Through this initiative, FDI seeks to set a tangible example for students and the community about the importance of environmental conservation while promoting an eco-friendly culture in daily life.

In addition to being a concrete manifestation of its environmental commitment, this program is also part of efforts to achieve the green matrix, a key indicator in realizing a sustainable campus. It is expected that the presence of Lee Kuan Yew plants will help reduce air pollution, create a greener campus atmosphere, and enhance the surrounding environmental quality.

This initiative is hoped to inspire other faculties to follow suit in designing and implementing greening programs. With strong commitment and synergy among the academic community, a sustainable green campus can be achieved, positioning the Faculty of Islamic Studies as a real example in supporting environmental conservation programs.
