The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FDI) once again secured three championships simultaneously in the 11th SAFAR (Semarak Festival Arab), organized by the Arabic Language Education program at Jakarta State University (UNJ) from November 9 to 13, 2021.

Moh Rizki, a third-semester student, achieved 2nd place in the MTQ (Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an) competition. He admitted that there was no special preparation due to the short notice, but he had previously learned tilawah through various tilawah organizations. "When participating in this competition, I initially felt happy, but I was nervous during the final round, especially as I was the first contestant to perform. I felt a bit mentally pressured, but Alhamdulillah, it went smoothly, and I was able to win 2nd place," he shared.

The student from Gresik, East Java, added, "This competition was very exciting and serious, in my opinion, especially considering the prestigious sponsors like the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), and the organizing committee was highly systematic."

Following this, the Arabic debate competition was also a highlight, with the Abqary FDI team achieving remarkable results. Abid Al-Akbar and Ahmad Rifai Rahman won 1st honorable mention, while Komarudin and Teguh Satria secured 3rd place. Komarudin shared that they also had no prior preparation for the competition, which used the British Parliamentary system (motions provided 15 minutes before the competition).

He noted that this competition presented extra challenges, even though they had prior experience with the British system. This time, the debate motions were highly debatable (imbalanced), but that did not dampen their spirit to perform.
