Muhammad Faiz, the top graduate of the 71st/128th FDI Graduation Ceremony!

Graduating on time and earning a bachelor's degree is the dream of many students. Especially being chosen as the best graduate in the academic field, of course, is very proud. Graduating with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.92 made Muhammad Faiz the best graduate of the 71/128th Dirasat Islamiyyah Study Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta with the title of his thesis “Al-Tasybihat Al-Tamtsiliyyah Al-Waridah fi Al-Ahadith Al-Nabawiyyah min Khilal Kitab Sahih Al-Bukhari (Dirasah Balaghiyyah Tahliliyyah)”. The award was given at the Graduate Debriefing event held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Dirosat Islamiyyah Faculty Hall. Being chosen as the best graduate is certainly a very happy thing for Muhammad Faiz. However, it does not make him forget to remain grateful for the blessings given. “Alhamdulillah, I feel happy and grateful of course. Because I myself initially did not expect to be at this point. Perhaps some of my colleagues are better and more deserving than me to receive this award. It's just that this time, I was selected for this”. He said during the interview. But who would have thought, Muhammad Faiz or more familiarly called Faiz besides being a student at the Faculty of Dirosat Islamiyyah UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. He is also a student of Darus-Sunnah International Institute for Hadith Sciences. Although his time is quite busy, it does not mean that it is difficult for him to manage his time. “Of course, studying while staying at the Darus-Sunnah International Institute for Hadith Sciences is definitely a busy schedule. It drains both energy and mind. And that is indeed a consequence of the chosen life journey, as there is a rule: Ar-Ridho bi as-Syai'i ridhon bima yatawalladu minhu (Being willing to something means being willing to something that arises from it) “. “But keep in mind that study time management is determining the priority scale: if it is urgent and important; do it now, if it is not urgent and important; plan, if it is urgent and not important; ask for help, if it is not urgent and not important; Leave”. He continued to provide a formula for managing time. Becoming a graduate who graduates on time, especially being chosen as the best graduate, certainly cannot be separated from maximum effort. Time, thought and energy must be sacrificed until finally it all pays off when what is desired is achieved. In the middle of the interview session, Faiz also gave some tips on maintaining GPA. “To maintain GPA, of course this is not an easy thing. However, there are several tips that may be tried by my colleagues, including: Be diligent and consistent in attending lectures, understand the character of the lecturer, learn as much as possible so that the results are optimal, make a summary of the lesson so that it is easy to understand, especially if the material is a grid for the exam, never give up, master the subject matter, especially if it is part of our presentation, appear confident, be active in class both in discussion and presentation and hold the principle. Kholif Tu'rof (Be different and you will be known).” “For my fellow FDI classmates, remember that money can be sought, knowledge can be explored. However, the opportunity to make your parents happy will never be repeated. When you later feel tired of the thesis, remember all your struggles until you get to this point, don't give up. Thesis fighters are not who is the smartest, but who makes the most effort. Just like the contract fighters, it is not who is the richest but who is the most prepared. The harder the struggle, the more beautiful the victory. If your dream has not been achieved, never change the dream, but change the strategy... Cheers!” He concluded at the end of the interview.
