The Blessing of the Qur'an: Rizki Faiza Firdausi Wins Second Place in International MTQ
Rizki Faiza Firdausi, a student of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FDI) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, won second place in the Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) competition at the Badawiyah 2022 Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Student International Competition, organized by the Special Branch of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCINU) Egypt, on March 20, 2022. The competition selection process was conducted online by submitting videos to YouTube, and the announcement of winners was made via Zoom Meeting on March 30, 2022, attended by the Chairman of Tanfidziyah PCINU Egypt, the General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Student Association (PP IPNU), and the General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Female Student Association (PP IPPNU).
The woman, who was born in Kediri, admitted that she was not well-prepared for the competition and did not expect to win. "Honestly, I was not well-prepared for this competition, I didn't practice enough, and there was no preparation at all. Moreover, after seeing the list of participants, I didn’t expect to win at all, and maybe it was just luck," she said.
Additionally, one of the challenges she faced was the deadline for submitting the video, which was just one day. "Coincidentally, the video submission deadline was only one day (March 21), while that week I was participating in 3 different competitions: MTQ from PCINU Egypt, MTQ from UIN Malang, and MHQ from the Saudi Arabian Embassy. And it turned out that the video I submitted was less than 7 minutes, but I just put my trust in God and accepted whatever happened," Faiza explained.
She also hopes that in the future, she will be more enthusiastic about studying and exploring knowledge, especially related to the Qur'an. "The blessings of the Qur'an are not only for the afterlife, but after experiencing the joy of living with the Qur'an, its blessings will continue to flow endlessly. Whether it’s the blessing of sustenance or other things, it will truly prove to be impactful in our daily lives," she concluded. (FDI Journalism Team: Ilmi Rosyada).
