The Faculty of Islamic Studies Holds PBAK Offline

The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FDI) conducted its Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK) on August 25-26, 2022. Unlike the past two years, which were held online, the 2022 PBAK FDI was conducted offline, with all new students attending the in-person event at the Faculty of Islamic Studies. This year’s PBAK carried the theme "Becoming a Moderate Muslim with an Excellent Academic Culture and Global Competitiveness."

On the first day of the faculty PBAK, new students received an orientation titled "Introduction to the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Study Programs," presented by the faculty deans, department heads, and staff. Additionally, they were given a campus tour to familiarize themselves with the campus environment, accompanied by games at each station to keep the activities engaging.

On the second day, new students wore batik along with the required accessories, including pins and name tags. On the first day, they dressed in black tops and white bottoms, similar to the dress code for the university-level PBAK held two days prior. On Friday, August 26, 2022, Dr. Ahmad Ginanjar Sya'ban, Lc. MA., delivered a presentation on "Building an International Academic Character within a Moderate Islamic Generation," followed by a Forum Group Discussion (FGD). Students received materials to discuss the lecture with their groups, after which representatives presented their discussions to their peers.

The committee also organized competitions specifically for new students to help identify their interests and talents. Competitions included Arabic debate, public speaking, emceeing, Quranic recitation (MTQ), and Quranic memorization (MQK), with each group sending representatives to participate. Before the event concluded, a representative of the new students shared their feedback, expressing joy and gratitude toward the committee and fellow students for the successful PBAK FDI 2022 event.

On the final day, after the FGD, comedians from Standup Comedy Indo UIN Jakarta, including Bachrul Alam, Alma Silviani, and Ali Rahmat Situmorang, entertained the new students in the FDI hall. The event concluded with an enthusiastic rendition of the FDI Mars song, sung together by the committee and new students. (Journalist Team: Achmad Faiq, Editor: Hanifah Azkannisa).
