Upgrading and Enhancing Leadership of the Faculty of Islamic Studies
The Faculty of Islamic Studies successfully held an offline event titled "Upgrading and Enhancing Leadership of the Faculty of Islamic Studies" on Friday (9/9), attended by the Student Senate Board (SEMA), the Executive Student Council (DEMA), Syahid Campus Da'wah Institute (LDKS), Abqary Members Board, and External Organizations. The event began at 9:00 AM (WIB) with an opening speech by the Vice Chair of the Faculty’s Student Council (DEMA), who shared the quote: “و من كان يومه مثل امسه فهو مرغب من كان يومه خيرا من امسه فهو رابح,” meaning, "Starting from these words, we must strive to improve ourselves," he stated.
The next speaker, Ust. Nurul Irfan M. Ag, the Vice Dean for Administration, provided motivation and prayed for the success of the 2022-2023 student council members, saying, "May the SEMA, DEMA, and Abqary boards be successful and find ease in all their endeavors." The event carried the theme "Synergy and Collaboration to Advance and Internationalize the Faculty of Islamic Studies," with Ust. Nanang Qasim Yusuf, M.M., a national motivational speaker and author of The 7 Awareness, as the keynote speaker. Ust. Naqoy shared numerous motivational insights, such as, "Leadership Is Free, Zero Power," and introduced the concept of E-G-O (Edging God Out), emphasizing that, “Unsuccessful people have thousands of excuses, while successful people have only one reason: they make no excuses.”
The event continued with a Forum Group Discussion led by Ust. Syarif Hidayatullah, M.Sum, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs. He stressed that, besides academics, communication skills and networking are also essential. “It’s not just academics; communication intelligence and networking are also important," he explained. He encouraged the council to think internationally and be synergistic and collaborative. During this session, the Vice Dean opened a feedback forum for the heads of SEMA, DEMA, Abqary, LDKS, and External Organizations. Faidhurrahman, Chair of DEMA, encouraged all students to boost their self-confidence and actively contribute to discussions, the environment, and establishing a unified vision for the faculty. Ust. Syarif concluded by suggesting that similar discussions be held annually to allow each organization to identify and address areas for improvement.
