Vice Rector II of UIN Jakarta Inspects FDI Facilities and Projects Infrastructure Revitalization

The Vice Rector II of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, MA, conducted a working visit to review the facilities at the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FDI) on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM WIB. The purpose of this visit was to assess infrastructure needs to enhance comfort and quality in the academic community's learning process.

In his statement, Vice Rector II emphasized the importance of infrastructure improvement as an effort to provide a comfortable learning environment for students. "The enhancement of infrastructure facilities is essential for the academic community, especially for students, to create a comfortable lecture environment," he stated. He added that adjustments to the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) would be reallocated to support student-oriented infrastructure.

UIN Jakarta aims for 2025 as the year of infrastructure revitalization, during which various support facilities will be upgraded to bolster the campus internationalization program. "Hopefully, next year, we can meet most of the infrastructure needs," he continued. The Vice Rector II highlighted that UIN Jakarta's internationalization program requires meeting several indicators, including adequate infrastructure and quality library facilities. "Internationalization requires adequate infrastructure, including quality library facilities," he added.

In her introductory remarks at the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Dr. Yuli Yasin, MA, expressed appreciation for the university's support, particularly regarding the installation of an elevator currently under construction. "We are grateful for the facilities provided, especially the elevator installation. Several facilities at FDI still need continuous improvement to meet academic needs," she said.

During the same occasion, the meeting also resulted in several points conveyed by meeting participants from the university and FDI academic community representatives. The university provided guidelines for submitting proposals for additional facilities at FDI, with the condition that each proposal must be accompanied by a TOR with funding shared 50% from the faculty and 50% from the university.

Furthermore, regarding severely damaged State-Owned Property (BMN), he urged that a letter be submitted for the removal process, in accordance with the proposal submitted last May.

During his visit, the Vice Rector II and his team began the review by inspecting the first floor of FDI, which includes the dean's office, administrative office, prayer room, and lobby. The inspection continued on the second floor, which includes the hall, meeting room, restroom, and master's program classroom. They then inspected classrooms on the third and fourth floors.
